"Seeing the music, hearing the dance" is the creative credo of the composer Igor Stravinsky and the choreographer George Balanchine, a brilliant author's "duet" in the ballet art of the twentieth century. An evening with this name will combine opera and ballet art. Masterpieces of world opera classics and modern choreographic performances staged by the chief choreographer of the Opera and Ballet Theater of the Komi Republic Andrei Merkuriev.
The first part of the evening is divertissement. Arias and duets from the golden collection of opera masterpieces will be performed by the theater's soloists, modern choreographic performances will be presented by soloists and ballet dancers.
In the second part, Andrei Merkuriev, inspired by the choreography of the legendary 20th century ballet master George Balanchine, will present his own ballet. The audience will see a one-act ballet to the music of Felix Mendelssohn performed by the theater's ballet troupe - Symphony No. 4 (Italian) will be performed.
