“Kings of the Dance” is the joint project of arts groups “Orange County Center of Performance Arts”, from California, “Ardani Artists” out of New York, and “Adolf Kдis Company” from Estonia, featuring world-famous ballet stars David Hallberg (USA), Nikolay Tsiskaridze (Russia), Marcelo Gomes (Brazil), Jose Manuel Carreno (Cuba), Denis Matvienko (Ukraine) and Joaquin De Luz (Spain).

The International “Kings” with its exclusive repertoire is a unique phenomenon. Six dancers, six different forms to the ballet world’s highest summit. It’s a magical fairytale - an ideal theater with six superstars - six of the world’s finest dancers.

The idea for this project was born three years ago, from a wish by two soloists with American Ballet Theater: Angel Corella and Ethan Stifieli. The desire was to dance something new, and acceptance by one of the world’s most appreciated choreographers, Christopher Wheeldon, to stage this new outcome made it all happen. Producer Sergei Daniljan, who as manager of the successful U.S. theater agency Ardani Artist, expanded this idea even further by proposing to gather the best representatives from classical schools around the world into one program.

Eight nights in California’s “Orange County” and in New York’s “City Center” created a sensation throughout the entire world of ballet. The premieres were followed by triumphant shows in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Perm, Novosibirsk, Cheljabinsk, Jekaterinburg, Ufa, Kiev and Odessa in 2007 and 2008. The project received the highest accolades by the Russian and American press; its structure and concept have remained unchanged, which together with its new performers only further highlights one of its main characteristics – its openness.

Preparations for the tour “Kings – 2009” which will take place in New York in October-November, are in process. This new program’s premiere will be on stage in “City Center” on November 6, 7 and 8. The current tour is characterized by an absolutely new program, featuring the works of great choreographers such as Nacho Duato, Jose Limon, Frederick Ashton, David Parsons, Christopher Wheeldon, Roland Petit, Anton Dolin and Boris Eifman.
