Ekaterina Kichigina studied at the Choral Department of the Gnessins Academy of Music. When a student, she was invited to sing with Vladimir Minin's Moscow State Academic Chamber Choir.

Since 1995, the singer has worked in the Novaya Opera Theatre of Moscow.
