In 2016, Ms. Engebretson made a return to the Royal Opera stage in the role of Sophie (Werther), which served as her HD Cinema debut. Thereafter, Engebretson debuted as Liù (Turandot) for l'Opéra Royal de Wallonie Liège, and returned to Staatsoper Hamburg. Her appearences in her home house of Wiesbaden included the title role of La traviataand as Konstanze in Die Entführung aus dem Serail. Other notable appearences in 2016-17 included Engebretson's debut with the Hamburg Symphoniker in Mahler's Symphony Number Eight, her house debut with Opera Kassel as Konstanze, and her house debut with Opera Stuttgart in the title role of Alcina

In the 2015-16 season, Ms. Engebretson made her debut with Royal Opera Covent Garden. Other notable debuts in the 2015-16 season included Staatsoper Hamburg and the Dresdener Philharmoniker.

Ms. Engebretson spent two seasons in the solo ensemble of Staatstheater Wiesbaden where she appeared in such diverse roles as Violetta in La traviata, the title role of Alcina, Fiordiligi (Cosi fan tutte), Konstanze (Die Entführung aus dem Serail), Euridice (Orfeo ed Euridice) and Musetta in La bohème. Prior to her time in Wiesbaden, Ms. Engebretson was engaged by Staatsoper Hannover where her repertoire included Britten's Tytania, Oscar, Zerlina, and Musetta. Prior to her time in Germany, Engebretson's seasons saw her first place win in the Savonlinna Opera Festival's International Singing Competition, her Carnegie Hall Stern Auditorium debut, her Saint Louis Symphony debut (Königin der Nacht), and her first performances of the soprano solo in Verdi's Requiem in Nürnberg.

Engebretson received her Master's degree from the Juilliard School under the tutelage of Edith Wiens and Steven Blier. Her undergraduate studies were completed at the Cleveland Institute of Music where her major studies were with Mary Schiller (voice), David Russell (violin) and Timothy Cutler (music theory).
