The Stars of the Classical Russian Ballet in the Summer Ballet Festival
Press Reviews
The Summer Festival of Ballet is Russia’s only mega-project in the sphere of advertising and popularising the art of classical ballet, which is a national cultural legacy. The “Ballet Marathon”, which will last over two months, traditionally includes performances by several outstanding ballet companies on Moscow’s best theatre stage. One unique feature of the Festival is the “live” symphonic accompaniment of the performances, which is the prerogative of big state theatres and is a luxury virtually unavailable for independent ballet troupes. It is a long-term project, enhanced by the world renown of the participants and the repertoire, which includes all the ballet masterpieces: Tchaikovsky’s Golden Trio: Swan Lake, The Nutcracker and The Sleeping Beauty; Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet, Adam’s Giselle, Khachaturian’s Spartacus, and Minkus’ Don Quixote and La Bayadere; one-act ballets to the music of Stravinsky, Ravel, Chopin and other famous works. Our project is aimed at raising the modern audience‘s awareness and involvement in the art of the Russian classical ballet. The Festival seeks to combine the highest performance level with a democratic form of communication with the audience. Our Festival provides the opportunity for Moscow citizens and guests from all over the world to see the best ballet masterworks performed by internationally acclaimed ballet companies on one stage during the coming two summer months.
You will have one more chance to make sure that ballet can make a super and unforgettable show.
