Chief conductor of the Bolshoi theater in 1948-53 yr

With Golovanov could not be sung or played "vpolsily". This was excluded. Therefore sounding orchestra under control of Golovanov was always especially emotional and bright. And orchestra in it always sang, and this quality is very valuable, especially in the instrument performance ".
He was borne 9 (21) January of 1891 in Moscow. In 1910 graduated from the synodal school of church singing, 1914- m - the Moscow conservatory, where was obtained composer diploma. At completion of school it was appointed as the assistant of the regent of synodal chorus, fulfilled also the post of the instructor of school. In 1915 it made a debut as symphonic conductor.
The independent nature and steep disposition, characteristic to Golovanov, complicated to it life, including in the Bolshoi theater. Twice it was forced to leave it, but it always returned. Golovanov worked in the large since 1915 on 28-1 (up to 19th g. as the choirmaster), then from 1930 through 36-1. In 1948 it was appointed as chief conductor, and this post preserved already to its quite death.
In 1919 together with Stanislavski1 it organized the operatic studio of the Bolshoi theater, in the course of time which was being transformed into the operatic theater im. K. s.Stanislavskiy, musical leader of whom Golovanov became in 1938.
In the 20‘s he was the artistic leader of the chamber concerts in the large hall of Moscow conservatory, organized by the professorate of konservatoriii by the corporation of the artist- soloists of the Bolshoi theater.

"A.V.Nezhdanova, V.I.Kachalov and I were the pioneers of our radiobroadcasting," - on 8 September, 1924, was transmitted the first radio-concert with the participation of the artists of the Bolshoi theater. In 1929- X g. operatic radio-theater created. In y9e0g. he became chief conductor and this theater, and Moscow radio center. But subsequently headed the large symphonic orchestra of the All-Union radio, into name of which in the course of time was added the "television" (1937-53 yr.).
In 1925-48 yr. (with the interruptions) he was the professor of the orchestral and operatic classes of Moscow conservatory. "very important in my konservatorskoy activity I consider the creation of large student orchestra".
It came out as pianist, in essence, in the ensemble with its wife - by great Russian singer, by the soloist of the Bolshoi theater Antonina Vasilyevna nezhdanovoy.
The creative heritage of Nikolai Golovanov counts 46 opuies, including one-act operas "princess yurat" and "Herculean barrow", symphony, symphonic poems, overture. It the author is more than two hundred romances. Being deeply religious person; it also wrote spiritual music.

Nikolai Golovanov was four times honored Stalin (state OF THE USSR) reward - into 1946, 1949, 1950 and 1951. In 1948 to him was appropriated the title "people artist OF THE USSR".
He died in Moscow on 28 August, 1953, it was buried on The novodevich‘em cemetery.
