Schedule for Moscow chamber ensemble "Eccellente" 2022

The first-class ensemble "Eccellente" fully merits its name, which it was endowed with thanks to its founder and guiding light- the famous musician, Evgeny Nepalo. Its "excellence" is to be found in the group’s concision, in the deep professionalism of each of the ensemble’s individual players, in their sharp and clear mutual understanding of one another and in the impeccable harmony of their ensemble-playing. The group’s technical perfection is tied to its particular artistic manner, combining aristocratic acuity with brilliance of interpretation.

There is no exaggeration here: members of "Eccellente" are coming from the State Academic Chamber Orchestra of Russia (former the famous Moscow Chamber Orchestra under direction of Rudolf Barshai), which today is one of the best orchestras in the world. Over the short duration of its existence (circa seven years), the Ensemble has acquired many earnest admirers, not only in Moscow, where it most frequently performs, with leading Russian artists and talented young musicians, but all over Russia, as well as abroad.

The group’s repertoire is enormous -from Baroque music to contemporary composers, who frequently dedicate their works to the Ensemble. Recordings by "Eccellente" include the works of the great masters of the XVII-XVIII centuries: J.S.Bach, G.F.Handel, A.Corelli, A.Vivaldi, G.F.Teleman, T.A.Vitali.

The celebrated oboist Evgeny Nepalo rightly belongs to the elite of world music. Suffice it here to mention that his partners have been: Sviatoslav Richter, David Oistrakh, Mstislav Rostropovich, Yehudi Menuhin - to name but a few. Together with Rudolf Barshai, he did much to create and make known the world-famous Moscow Chamber Orchestra, with which he has given highly successful concerts world-wide-including, in the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatoire, Carnegie Hall (New York), the Musikverein (Vienna), Royal Festival Hall (London), Santori Hall (Tokyo). To this day, he is active as both performer and teacher, and plays a prominent role in the life of the State Chamber Orchestra of Russia. He is also the irreplaceable director of the Moscow Chamber Ensemble "Eccellente", which he formed in October 1995.
