Jun Horiguchi (Dancer)
Soloist of New National Theatre Ballet, Tokyo
Jun Horiguchi was born in Saitama prefecture, Japan. She learned ballet under Katsuko Okamoto and Yukiko Mimura, and she was accepted by New National Theatre, Ballet School In 2003. Post graduation, she joined New National Theatre Ballet, Tokyo as a corps de ballet in 2005. In 2009, she has been promoted to a soloist.
The repertoire of Jun Horiguchi includes Swanilda's Friend (Roland Petit's Coppelia, Kitri's Friend (Don Quixote), Maiden (Swan Lake), Henriette (Raymonda), Masha (Nutcracker) and others.
She received several nationally and internationally well recognized awards: the second prize in the first category of All Japan Ballet competition in Saitama (2005), the second prize in Asian-Pacific International Ballet competition (2005), the first prize in a category of contemporary dance of All Japan Ballet competition organized by NBA Ballet company (2007).
