Born in Sverdlovsk (currently Yekaterinburg), Anton Grishanin graduated from the M. P. Musorgsky Ural State Conservatory (Trumpet, Prof. V. Ivukin, Opera and Symphony conducting, Prof. E. Brazhnik), and also studied at Mozarteum Salzburg.
He has worked as Assistant to Principal Conductor at the Ekaterinburg Opera and Ballet Theatre, Conductor (2003-09) and Artistic Director and Principal Conductor (2009-13) at the Chelyabinsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre, conductor at Bolshoi Theatre Moscow and Stanislavsky Theatre Moscow, and guest сonductor at Deutsche Oper Berlin and Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf and Duisburg.
Anton Grishanin has been nominated three times for the Golden Mask Award - the highest award in the Classical Arts in Russia.
He has got an extended symphonic and concert repertoire and has taken part in the International Opera Festival “Irina Arkhipova presents…”, conducted many times the final concerts of the International "S. Neigauz Piano Competition", the Glinka Vocal Contest, the Contest of Voice Contests (Sobinov Memorial Festival of Music), International Music and Dance Festival, Bangkok, Thailand.
In the “Opera: New Generation” concert series, he conducted the Gala-Concerts of the prize-winners of the International Glinka Vocal Contest at the Grand Hall of the Moscow State Conservatory.
His repertoire encompasses over fifty operas and ballets, on the one hand Mozart's The Magic Flute, Verdi's Rigoletto, Wagner's Lohengrin, Puccini's Tosca, Tchaikovsky's Iolanta and many others, and on the other hand ballets including Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake, The Nutcracker and The Sleeping Beauty, Adam’s Giselle, Minkus's Don Quixote and La Bayadère, Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet and Cinderella, Pugni's La Esmeralda and Paquita, Delibes' Coppélia, MacMillan's Mayerling after Liszt, Gade, Helsted and Pauli's Napoli, and Stravinsky’s Firebird.
Guest engagements with various theatres and orchestras in Russia and abroad brought him to the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia, National Symphony Orchestra of México, the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, the English National Opera Orchestra, the orchestras of the Opera and Ballet Theatres of Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Saratov, the orchestra of the Mikhailovsky Theatre (St Petersburg) and Stanislavsky Theatre (Moscow), among others.
Anton Grishanin is Honored Artist of Russia. He is the prizewinner of the Russian Government Award and of numerous awards of the Chelyabinsk region.
Among the outstanding artists, with whom Mo. Grishanin has collaborated are Irina Arkhipova, Elena Obraztsova, Vladislav Pyavko, Vladimir Malakhov, and others.
