Andrey Kaydanovskiy (Choreography)

Born in Moscow (Russia). After his education at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow, at the Ballettkonservatorium in St. Pölten, at the John-Cranko-Ballettakademie in Stuttgart and at the Ballettschule der Wiener Staatsoper he joined the Ballett der Wiener Staatsoper und Volksoper. In 2015 he was promoted Demi Soloist. He has worked with numerous renowned choreographers such as Roland Petit, Pierre Lacotte, John Neumeier, Paul Lightfoot, Sol Leon, Jorma Elo, Alexander Ekman, Jean-Christophe Maillot, Boris Eifman etc.

In 2015 he received the Special Prize as "Best Dance Theatre Performer and Choreographer" at the International Dance Festival TANZOLYMP in Berlin. Andrey Kaydanovskiy was awarded the "German Dance Prize 2016" in the category "Future". In 2009 he presented his first own choreography and during the next years several others followed. In April 2013 his first work for the Vienna State Ballet was "Zeitverschwendung". In October 2013 the first performance of "The Ugly Duckling" (ballet in one act) at the Volksoper Wien took place. In May of the following year he staged the opening ceremony of the complete opening of the "Life Ball 2014". In September 2014 he created "Love Song" for the event "Young Choreographers’14" at the Odeon Theatre. In 2016, within the project "Intersection Point" of the Moscow Stanislavsky and Nemirovich- Danchenko Music Theatre Andrey created the work "Tea or coffee?" for which he was nominated for the National "Golden Mask” Award in the category "Best Choreographer", and the work itself was nominated in the category "Best Performance" / "Contemporary Dance". In 2017 staged Stravinsky's "The Firebird" for the music of I. Stravinsky for the Vienna State Ballet Company and solo for Sergei Polunin in the framework of the festival "Origen Festival Cultural" in Switzerland.
