Dina Kuznetsova (Soprano)

As a graduate of their young artist programme, Moscow-born soprano Dina Kuznetsova went on to star in a number of new productions at the Lyric Opera of Chicago including Cunning Little Vixen, Rigoletto and, marking her role debut as Tatyana, Eugene Onegin under the baton of Sir Andrew Davis. Noted for an outstanding musicianship and captivating stage presence, Dina Kuznetsova also enjoyed early success in Europe with such productions as Gianni Schicchi with Sir Antonio Pappano at the Royal Opera House, Don Giovanni with Daniel Barenboim at Berlin’s Staatsoper unter den Linden, Roméo et Juliette at the Wiener Staatsoper under Claude Schnitzler and Rodelinda with Ivor Bolton at Munich’s Bayerische Staatsoper. Other career highlights have included Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) with Donald Runnicles at the San Francisco Opera, Desdemona (Otello) with the Gulbenkian Orchestra under Lawrence Foster, Francesca da Rimini at The Metropolitan Opera with Marco Armiliato and Cio–Cio San in Anthony Minghella’s production of Madama Butterfly at English National Opera under Gianluca Marcianò. Her passionate portrayal of Tchaikovsky’s Tatyana has also brought her huge success at both Opéra national de Lille as well as with the Russian National Orchestra under Mikhail Pletnev. More recently, Dina has developed towards the Slavic and Russian repertoire which has become central to her current schedule; recent role debuts have included Katya Kabanová for Teatro Municipal de Santiago de Chile and the Hamburgische Staatsoper, Rusalka for the Glyndebourne Festival under Sir Andrew Davis, and Lisa (Pique Dame) with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra under Vladimir Ashkenazy. A keen recitalist and chamber musician, Dina Kuznetsova appears regularly at both the New York Festival of Song and the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center and features as part of the Music@Menlo series of CDs performing songs by Dvořák and Shostakovich. This season she returns to the Lincoln Center and Music@Menlo in Rachmaninov programmes.
