"The Magic Lamp of Aladdin" was written by the outstanding italian composer of the XX century Nino Rota. His name is particularly well-known to cinema fans because of his film scores, notably for the films of Federico Fellini, Luchino Visconti, Franco Zeffirelli and Francis Ford Coppola.
Alongside this great body of film work, Nino Rota composed several operas and dozens of other orchestral, choral and chamber works. The children's opera "The Magic Lamp of Aladdin" is one of his most popular works, based on the well-known story from the "Thousand and One Nights".
A fascinating story, vivid and colorful music make the opera "The Magic Lamp of Aladdin" an excellent choice for introducing young audiences to opera.
