Summary

Act I

Scene One

Freedom-loving song is heard loudly Kahyma.
Bashkir village outskirts. Kahyma wife Safia tells his mother about the return of his son. The news quickly spread around the village. Villagers gather to meet his illustrious countryman. People, proud of his exploits and military prowess, sympathetically and warmly responded to the call for help Kahyma in the war with the French.
Sensing the emergency separation, grieving wife Kahyma - Safia. Kahym assures her of his love and faithfulness.
Father and mother Kahyma not hide pride in his son. His father calls him to serve the people and the fatherland. But the mother, apprehensively, with a heavy heart does not want to let go of her son again on the battlefield.

Scene Two

Russian army and Bashkir regiments praise commander Kutuzov. He thanks the heroes for the faithful, and courage in battle. From now on, they have the same destiny and purpose - to defend Russia, to destroy the enemy, to go to Paris.

Act II

Scene Three

Evening. Detachment Kahyma rests. It sounds bright and sad song a young warrior, homesick.
Zalifa singing about his unrequited love for Kahymu. Carried away by his feelings, Zalifa notices in love with her and makes fun of Nasir unhappy youth. Introduced Hangilde enjoys confusion Nasir and incites him to kill Kahyma. Angered Nasir shoots traitor.

Fourth picture

Taking Paris, the army returned home with a victory. During the rest Kahym enthusiastically thanked the soldiers for his loyal service, courage and fearlessness. The fun begins.
Kahym suddenly felt bad and realized that he was poisoned.
Dying Kahyma carefully placed in the shade. Buranbay Zalifa and care for them, but their concern is no relief - a deadly poison blew Kahyma force. He raves about: he seen his father, mother, wife Safia. Making an effort, he says farewell words to his native Urals. Mourn the death of Kahyma and vows not to forget the hero.
Mother, shocked by the death of his son, wants revenge. Suddenly, in the heavenly heights Kahyma a voice - he calls all to peace and harmony.
