Timur Zangiev (Music Director)

Timur Zangiev was born in 1994 in Moscow. He started studying to become a symphony conductor at a musical school affiliated with the V. Gergiev Arts College in the city of Vladikavkaz, and made his debut with a symphony orchestra at the age of seven. 
 
Since 2005 he studied at Academic Music College of the Tchaikovsky State Conservatory of Moscow under the Honored Artist of Russia professor Anatoly Levin, and since 2011, at the Conservatory itself under the People’s Artist of the U.S.S.R. Gennadiy Rozhdestvensky. 

Mr. Zangiev has taken part in such festivals as Vladimir Spivakov’s Moscow Welcomes Friends (2005, 2006), Nikolai Petrov’s Kremlin the Musical (2007), Classical Music over the Volga (2009, 2010), and Dmitry Kogan’s The Days of Sublime Music, Eliso Virsaladze International Music Festival in Telavi (2012), the International festival “Debussy and His Time” in Moscow  (2012). He also toured in France. 

He has conducted the Mariinsky Orchestra, the Novaya Rossiya (New Russia) orchestra, the State Chamber Orchestra Virtuosi of Moscow, the State Academic Chamber Orchestra of Russia, the Concert Symphony Orchestra of the Moscow Conservatory, Philharmonic Orchestra of Monte-Carlo and many other orchestras in Russia. 

Mr. Zangiev was the Music Director and Conductor of the opera The Miser by V. Pashkevich in 2012 in the city of Togliatti. 

Since 2012 he acts as assistant conductor for the Moscow Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theater. In that capacity he has taken part in the production of Songs at the Well. The Blind, Mayerling, Die lustige Witwe (The Merry Widow). He conducted the premiere performance of Songs at the Well.  In the season 2013-2014 he carried out the revival of the opera “Cosi fan tutte”. 

Since 2015 he has been a conductor for the Moscow Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theatre.

Today he conducts "Il Barbiere di Seviglia", "Cosi fan tutte", "Manon", "Medea", "Mayerling", "Tatjana", "Orfeo ed Eueridice", "Il matrimonio segreto", "Don Giovanni" and the educational program for children “Introduction to the orchestra” at the Stanislavsky Music Theatre.
